For the first Search for Miss Hawaiian-Tropic Philippines, Bernardo wrote the script and directed for stage and television. BB is flanked by Amelia de la Cruz,1st runner-up; Alma Carvajal Concepcion, title holder; and her court, with choreographer Bobby Ongkiko.

 


BERNARDO, TV STAR,  with Philippines’ Charlie Chaplin, DOLPHY,who was Kevin Cosme to his scheming Steve Carpio in “HOME ALONG DA RILES,” the Philippine TV hit sitcom which ran for 10 years on ABS-CBN Channel 2, and internationally on TFC (The Filipino Channel).

 


Bernardo with stage-TV-film actress CITA ASTALS. Both Repertory Philippines actors, BB & CITA co-starred in HOME ALONG DA RILES and later co-hosted a talk show on Channel 4, LATER TONIGHT WITH BERNIE & CITA.

 


Bernardo and LEAH NAVARRO hosted THE PARTY, a TV variety show built around the concept of a movable Feast that featured celebrities and musical stars in top performance venues in Metro Manila. BB and Leah also starred in the Broadway Musical hit THEY’RE PLAYING OUR SONG which had extended runs in Manila, Singapore and Makati.

 


Bernardo with VILMA SANTOS, The Star for All Seasons, during the launch of Vi’s new TV show for Channel 7–VILMA TONIGHT!–where BB was Concept Director and co-host. Launch featured such guests as ROSANNA ROCES, DINA BONNEVIE, CHARLENE GONZALES, GINA ALAJAR, and GELLI DE BELEN.
